How long have you lived in Indianapolis? 4 years

Describe yourself in 100 words or less: I grew up in West Lafayette where my dad taught at Purdue and my mom was a nurse. I have three brothers who live all over the country. I’ve spent 10 years working on the technology and systems that power politics, international development, and nonprofits. My wife Asya and I met in DC and we moved to Carmel in 2020. In my free time I love gardening, travel, and learning how to fly small airplanes. Last year I had the opportunity to participate in the Maurer Koach Program, which inspired me to get more involved in the Jewish community.

How do you give back? I volunteer my time and skills to support a number of local organizations. I serve on the board of the JCRC (Jewish Community Relations Council) and also chair the JCRC’s Community Engagement Committee, where we focus on strengthening ties with diverse communities across Indianapolis. I’m a member of IN Tech for Progress, supporter of Women4Change Indiana, and I’ve advised local elected officials on ways to use technology to improve public services and better support citizens.

Celebrity Doppleganger: David Krumholtz or Volodymr Zelenskyy

Who is a Jew who inspires you? Albert Einstein

How do you envision the Indianapolis Jewish community in the next 10 years? Diverse, engaged, politically active, connected to other communities, generous in resources and spirit, working together to support each other and build a better world.

What is your proudest accomplishment in the past 10 years? It’s not a single thing, but just consistently doing work that inspires me and makes a positive impact on the world - including serving on two presidential campaigns, supporting nationwide nonprofits, arts and cultural institutions, and working for change in our local community.

Any advice for younger professionals? Be adaptable, work hard, and have patience - nothing is going to be handed to you. If you’re on a career track that’s working for you - great! If not, don’t be afraid to make a change and try something different.

Anything else we should know about you? I’ve visited all 50 states (plus DC and Puerto Rico). When I tell people this, they almost always ask which was my favorite, so I’ll save you the trouble - they’re each great in their own way.
