How long have you lived in Indianapolis? 7 years

Describe yourself in 100 words or less: Originally from Pittsburgh, I moved to Indianapolis to work at Community Health Network as an oncology genetic counselor. This year, I was elected as President of the Indiana Network of Genetic Counselors (INGC). In 2019 I founded the Young Adult Social and Support Group (YASS) which provides a supportive community for those who have been diagnosed with cancer in their 20's and 30's. In 2018 I became a certified barre instructor at The Barre Code. I love to travel and am always looking to try new things (this year I attempted ice skating, pole dancing, and sewing!).

How do you give back? I run a support group for young adults in their 20s and 30s that have been diagnosed with cancer. I am also a member of the Good Trouble Coalition which fights for social justice and reproductive rights in Indiana.

Celebrity Doppleganger: Lea Michele

Who is a Jew who inspires you? Ruth Bader Ginsburg

How do you envision the Indianapolis Jewish community in the next 10 years? I see the Jewish Community as having a stronger voice for social justices and equality as a younger generation starts to become more involved.

What is one thing you look forward to as we come out of this Pandemic? I look forward to a society that understands the importance of work-life balance and promotes flexible and remote schedules that were deemed possible during the pandemic. I hope we have evolved in a way that continues to encourage employees to invest in their own mental health and well-being.

What is your proudest accomplishment in the past 10 years? I became a certified fitness instructor while undergoing chemotherapy, thus proving that you can do anything you set your mind to regardless of your circumstance.

Any advice for younger professionals? Efficiency is everything. Do what scares you. Fake it until you make it.
