How long have you lived in Indianapolis? Born and raised here! Left Indy for college & returned in late 2019

Describe yourself in 100 words or less: As of March 2022, the first descriptor I use for myself is new mom. Outside of stepping into that role, I’d describe myself as a strong advocate for female leaders who derives immense joy from achieving goals and exceeding expectations. I consider myself a fiercely loyal and honest friend and teammate. In my personal life, I’m known as an event planner and “doer” who can easily multitask and is always willing to volunteer for a cause.

How do you give back? If there's an opportunity for me to support my community, you can bet I'll be there with bells on! I really enjoy volunteering at Popsie's Pantry multiple times per month and making a tangible impact that way. When I'm not donating my time to the Federation, the Junior League of Indianapolis, or the Indianapolis Children's Choir, I make sure to provide monetary donations to organizations I care about. I believe giving of both your time and treasure is important because it reiterates your trust in the leaders of the organization to put your treasure toward their greatest need.

Who is a Jew who inspires you? Bella Abzug, politician and women's rights advocate

How do you envision the Indianapolis Jewish community in the next 10 years? I realize that the Jewish community in Indy, and in general, is watching the views and values of the latest generations change significantly. Millennials and Gen Z are the future donors, volunteers, and leaders of our community, but we don't want to step into the same roles that have existed for decades. To address these changes, we'll need to reinvent "community engagement" over the next decade to give folks more meaningful ways to get involved. To keep the Jewish community relevant to the latest generations, we're going to need to evolve!

What is one thing you look forward to as we come out of this Pandemic? I'm really looking forward to safely seeing people's smiles again! I love seeing expressive eyes, but as the musical number from Annie says, we're never fully dressed without a smile.

Any advice for younger professionals? Make time for the things you love, no matter how busy you are. When you look back on the last month, year, or longer, you'll never regret taking time to pursue your passions and make a positive impact.
