Shortly after David and I married, 37 years ago we received this Hanukiya from Marion and Raymond Garmel. Raymond has purchased it on one of his trips to Israel. We have used it ever since. I have missed Israel so much in those days , and even today. The slender amphora , the olive branch ,the colors , brass and green, all gave me the comforting feeling of home. When I lived in Israel we often used to give souvenirs to friends who lived abroad , made from the same materials and it felt touristy, but this one just felt right. Many times we brought it to temple or to friends home when we participated in the Community candle Lighting. This graceful Hannukiya brought us much joy and we feel the warmth .
