The Center for Interfaith Cooperation presents the seventh annual Indy Festival of Faiths at the Veterans Memorial Plaza and the Indiana War Memorial in downtown Indy Sunday, September 22, from 1:00-5:00. It’s the Midwest’s biggest one-day celebration of the diversity of belief and unity of spirit. More than a hundred congregations and community groups will display how they live the Festival’s theme: “Embracing Diversity.” It’s a unique opportunity to talk to your neighbor in Central Indiana and to learn about religious traditions you may never have heard of. Children can spend the afternoon exploring the Play Zone, learning about how other cultures’ kids have fun. On the Sacred Arts Stage, see and hear performances of Indian dance, music by undocumented youth, and a choir of homeless persons. Talk with mayors and community leaders from around Central Indiana about how they intend to foster diversity in their cities. Meet young Hoosiers who’ve committed themselves to promote religious literacy and collaboration in service. This is a ~ FREE, ALL AGES ~ event, so bring everyone you know! ♥
