Indy Cleans Park, Reversing a Tashlich Tradition

More than 25 people of all ages collected over 102 pounds of trash during the Reverse Tashlich Holliday Park cleanup on Sunday, Sept. 12. NEXTGen and Indy Chai partnered with more than 103 communities across the globe in Repair the Sea’s Fourth Annual Reverse Tashlich International Jewish Community Cleanup.
Reversing an old tradition, eco-activist Jews cleanse waters of humanity’s sins. As many perform a Rosh Hashanah ritual in which last year’s sins are symbolically cast onto the water, Reverse Tashlich participants make amends by cleaning litter from waterfronts.
