How long have you lived in Indianapolis? 30 years
Describe yourself in 100 words or less: I moved to Indianapolis with my family from Kiev, Ukraine at the age of 9, with the help of the JCC. I’m lucky have grown up in central Indiana and it’s the perfect place to raise my young family. As Carmel’s redevelopment director, my day-job is to continue making our community better by growing Carmel’s walkable downtown. Apart from work, I enjoy cycling, history podcasts and playing my daughter’s favorite song over and over in my car.
How do you give back? I’ve volunteered throughout my career, including as a judge for Teen Court and for high school speech competitions organized by Business Professionals of America. I’ve served for many years on the board of King Park Community Development Corporation (now Renew Indianapolis). I also serve on the board of the Ukrainian Society of Indiana and previously served as a board member of the Russian School of Indiana (now renamed Heritage School/Multicultural Education Center of Indiana).

How do you envision the Indianapolis Jewish community in the next 10 years? I believe the community will continue to grow.
What is one thing you look forward to as we come out of this Pandemic? Concerts and travel
What is your proudest accomplishment in the past 10 years? Building the Hotel Carmichael in Carmel, Indiana.
Any advice for younger professionals? Take on the hard challenges. Everyone can do the easy things.
