How long have you lived in Indianapolis? 12 years

Describe yourself in 100 words or less: Born and raised in a farming community in rural southern Illinois. Following high school, I attended the University of Illinois and later Purdue University where I graduated with my Doctor of Pharmacy. Following graduation, I continued postdoctoral training in critical care. Since 2012, I have been proudly employed by Eskenazi Health. In 2017, I met what would become my connection to Judaism, Josh Lodolo. After a few years of dating, we married on October 2, 2020. Grateful daily for our beautiful life. We share similar loves for travel, food, and our two pups, Dodger and Maxwell.

How do you give back? As a healthcare professional, I inherently have a passion for serving the community through use of my knowledge and skills as a pharmacist. For the past 8 years, I have served as a pharmacist for the Wheeler Mission Medical Clinic providing services alongside a multidisciplinary team for an underserved population. Within the Jewish community, I am finding new opportunities to serve outside the medical field through my membership at the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation (IHC) and through the Jewish Federation of Greater Indianapolis (JFGI). At IHC I am actively involved in the Caring Community Committee, Rosh Hashanah Planning Committee, IHC-University Leadership Cohort, and co-leader of the Young Couples Circle. My involvement with JFGI has included multi-year participation on Super Sunday and our family’s favorite, Adopt-A-Family.

Who is a Jew who inspires you? Ruth Bader Ginsburg

How do you envision the Indianapolis Jewish community in the next 10 years? Still new to the Indianapolis Jewish community, my vision is developing. I am hopeful for continued growth and strengthening of the community through greater involvement of community members of my generation.

What is one thing you look forward to as we come out of this Pandemic? Using the lessons learned during these most challenging 2+ years to reimagine how we connect with others, conduct day-to-day business, and even worship.

What is your proudest accomplishment in the past 10 years? Helping to lead a department and health-system through a global pandemic. This task pushed me mentally, physically, and emotionally. It also required my colleagues and me to pivot, grow, re-think, and fail as we worked to implement treatment algorithms, rollout mass vaccination clinics, manage supply chain shortages, and care for the community of Marion County who needed our services.

Any advice for younger professionals? Some of us may have required student loans to accomplish our professional goals. That’s okay and you should never be ashamed! With that said, be certain you figure out your financial strategy to pay back those loans or participate in a forgiveness program. When that day comes, enjoy the freedom from student loans…you worked hard, and you deserve to celebrate!
