How long have you lived in Indianapolis? 22 years

 

Describe yourself in 100 words or less: I am a first-generation American Jew. I am fortunate to be married to an incredible woman and to be the father of two amazing kids. I have various interests and hobbies that I enjoy, including music, tennis, bowling, and psychology.

 

How do you give back? I contribute to various organizations and try to have a positive impact on everyone I meet. In regard to the Jewish community, I participate in programs through the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation, the Jewish Federation, and Giving Tree Early Learning. In 2020, I helped Young Jewish Professionals plan a Purim Hip-Hop show. In addition to my participation in the Jewish community, I support the arts scene of Indianapolis. I curate events and provide opportunities for local artists to share their work. In the past, I have contributed proceeds from my music to various non-profits.

Who is a Jew who inspires you? My grandparents are Holocaust survivors, which has always motivated me to work hard, appreciate my family, and be a proud member of the Jewish community.

 

How do you envision the Indianapolis Jewish community in the next 10 years? I envision an inclusive and connected Jewish community, that provides meaningful services for the people of Indianapolis. I picture my children enjoying some of the programs I was able to participate in growing up in Indianapolis thanks to the Jewish community.

 

What is one thing you look forward to as we come out of this Pandemic? I look forward to increased opportunities to travel and gather with friends and family.

 

What is your proudest accomplishment in the past 10 years? I was proud to complete my Ph.D. in Psychology from Case Western Reserve University.

 

Any advice for younger professionals? I would advise young professionals to keep yourself open to trying new things. Education and acquiring new skills are never wasted. Never hesitate to reach out to others. Actively seek guidance and support from the people around you. Build a network of professionals you trust.

 

Anything else we should know about you? I am looking forward to new opportunities to become involved in the Jewish community. I am dedicated to preserving and improving our community for our children to enjoy.
