How long have you lived in Indianapolis? Since 2016
Describe yourself in 100 words or less: I enjoy making memories with people I care about, learning new and interesting facts, and having fun. I enjoy going to concerts, seeing movies and finding time to watch my favorite shows. I'm always ready for a conversation about superheroes or Star Wars, professional sports, and ways to make the world a better place.
How do you give back? I spent years working with college students across the country to find meaning in their collegiate experiences while developing social, leadership and life skills. I volunteer with and support multiple nonprofit organizations committed to social justice efforts like confronting antisemitism, hate prevention and equity and inclusion. Professionally, I started working at the Jewish Federation in 2022 as another way to make a direct impact on our community for today and tomorrow.
Celebrity Doppleganger: A combination of Jason Biggs, Tim Tebow and 90s Adam Sandler
Who is a Jew who inspires you? Mark Cuban
How do you envision the Indianapolis Jewish community in the next 10 years? I believe our community is going to experience a substantial transition over the next decade. Whether it's a generational “passing of the torch” in Jewish community leadership or leaders working to meet the growing safety, security and social justice needs of our community members, it will be a decade of transition. It's an exciting opportunity for all of us to come together a unified community, learn from our shared history, and put our community in a position to thrive for decades to come.
What is your proudest accomplishment in the past 10 years? I'm most proud of committing to a healthier lifestyle at the start of the pandemic. Before the pandemic, I traveled a lot for work and did not take the best care of my body. Starting in March 2020, I began running almost every day and being more mindful of what I ate and drank. This resulted in me losing 50 pounds by November 2020 and allowed me to complete my first half marathon, something I never thought I would be able to do, in November 2021.
Any advice for younger professionals? Find something you're passionate about and invest in it. Maybe it becomes your career, maybe it becomes a volunteer priority for you. Don't be afraid to change course professionally if you find yourself unfulfilled at work. Millennials and Gen Z are passionate about making change, so it is critical to balance patience and persistence to see those changes manifest.
