How long have you lived in Indianapolis? 31 years

Describe yourself in 100 words or less: As Director of Corporate Social Responsibility and Philanthropy for Glick, I am focused on ways to maximize the community impact of Glick’s philanthropic work in central Indiana and in communities where Glick operates.

How do you give back? Outside of my job, I stay active in the community through a number of volunteer leadership positions. I serve on the board for the Jewish Community Center, the Indianapolis Cultural Trail, Inc. as well as on advisory boards for Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana and the Glick Eye Institute. I’m looking forward to co-leading the Frank-Larner Leadership Program at the JCC this fall, a leadership program for prospective JCC board members. I also enjoy coaching my kids’ sport teams and teaching them the importance of giving back to the community.

Celebrity Doppleganger: Michael Phelps

Who is a Jew who inspires you? My grandpa, Gene Glick, taught me from a young age the importance of a strong Jewish community and the values of tzdakah and tikkun olam. Having liberated Dachau concentration camp during WWII and seeing the worst that humankind is capable of, he made a commitment to himself that his life’s work would be for the greater good. That commitment inspires me in my work to strengthen the quality of life in central Indiana.

How do you envision the Indianapolis Jewish community in the next 10 years? The future of the Indianapolis Jewish community is incredibly bright. JFGI and their agencies have done a great job of engaging the next generation of Jewish leaders to position the community for future success. Serving on the board of directors for the Jewish Community Center, I feel as though the organization is as strong as ever and well positioned for the future.

What is one thing you look forward to as we come out of this Pandemic? I’m hopeful that the pandemic has taught all of us to have more empathy for one another. Everyone struggled in one way or another during the pandemic and we could all use some grace as we navigate the new normal.

What is your proudest accomplishment in the past 10 years? My proudest accomplishment in the past 10 years is completing my Master’s in Philanthropic Studies from the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at IU while working full-time, raising three young children, and navigating the obstacles the pandemic threw our way.

Any advice for younger professionals? I’d stress the importance of networking. Indianapolis is a unique community where it often feels like everyone knows everyone. Growing your network early in your career will open doors down the road.
